Signs Your iPad Screen Needs Repair
- Cracks spreading across the glass, even if the picture underneath still looks fine

Glass Only, or the Whole Screen?
This is the part most people do not know about, and it is what decides your price.
On older iPads, the outer glass you touch is a separate layer sitting on top of the display underneath. If only that glass is cracked and the picture is still perfect, we can replace just the glass. That is the cheaper repair, and it is where the $75 starting price comes from.
On newer iPads — recent iPad Air models, every iPad Pro, and the latest base models — the glass and the display are fused into one laminated part. There is no way to separate them. Cracked glass on those means replacing the whole screen assembly, which costs more because the part itself costs more.
You do not need to work out which one you have. Tell us the model, or bring the iPad in, and we will tell you which repair applies and what it costs before anything starts.
What the Repair Involves
- Free inspection. We check the glass, the display underneath, the touch layer, and the frame around it.
- Quote. You get the price and which repair path applies before any work starts.
- Replacement. iPad screens are sealed in with adhesive, so the panel is heated, lifted carefully, and the new one is bonded back in.
- Testing. We check touch response across the whole screen, display quality, and the front camera and sensors before you pick it up.

Your Data
Screen replacement does not touch your storage. Photos, apps, and files stay where they are.
We still recommend backing up to iCloud or a computer before any repair, on any device. You do not need to give us your passcode for a screen replacement, though unlocking it lets us test Face ID, Touch ID, and your apps after the work is done.
Bringing Your iPad In
We are at 94 Hester St Front 1, New York, NY 10002, open Monday through Sunday, 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. Walk-ins are welcome.
Bring the iPad itself. You do not need the case, the charger, or the Apple Pencil unless you want us to test with them.
Texting first helps. Send a photo of the damage and tell us the model, and we can quote you before you make the trip. The model number is printed in small text on the back of the iPad and starts with an A.

My glass is cracked but the screen still works. Is that cheaper?
Often yes. If the display underneath is undamaged and your iPad is a model with separate glass, we can replace just the glass. On laminated models the whole assembly has to be replaced regardless.

How long does it take?
iPad screens are sealed with adhesive that needs time to set, so they usually take longer than a phone screen. Call or text before visiting and we will tell you the current turnaround for your model.
Will I lose my photos or apps?
Screen replacement normally does not require erasing storage. Back up important data before service, because other device faults or repair complications can affect access to your data.
The screen is cracked but I can still use it. Should I wait?
Cracks spread, and loose glass can cut a finger or let dust and moisture reach the display underneath. A glass-only repair can turn into a full assembly replacement once the damage reaches the display, so getting it checked early usually costs less.
